First days at home

Here's my very first car ride!

But when I left the hospital, I was jaundice and my bilirubin count was very high. My doctor didn't want to keep me another night since the next day was Thanksgiving...so instead she sent us home with a bili blanket. So the first few days home, I had to stay on the blanket unless I was being fed or changed. We still had to go back to the hospital the next 2 days so they could draw my blood to make sure my counts were dropping.

This is the first time I met my sister face to face...and not through the nursery glass. I promise I like her, I'm just not used to someone trying to poke my eyes and giving me very sticky kisses (Magnolia loves suckers, so everyone knows when she's done a drive by kiss because my head is all sticky)

Hello world!!!

Well, I decided to fake my mom out and give her pretty steady contractions all weekend. She decided to go to work all day on Monday....she got there around 6:30am but finally left around 4:00 or 4:30pm. Mimi was in town and mom felt that something wasn't quite right, so she decided to stop by the hospital on the way home just to get things checked out. Turns out she was in labor having contractions every minute or so! But I was much nicer than my big sister (who's sometimes known as the red headed monster) and decided to make the labor pretty pain free....she felt nothing! Mommy was checked in around 5pm and was in labor (I use this term very loosely because mom said she couldn't feel anything, she was just really hungry. Turns out she had a parent/teacher conference, make up testing, and meeting the long term sub that day and didn't have time to eat lunch) until about 11pm. At this point everyone thought I'd be born the next day. But I was ready to go! Mommy was fully dilated by 11pm and I was born 10 minutes later!

Everyone came to see me! They actually came as soon as they got the call that mommy's water broke. Apparently mommy's labor with my sister was VERY fast and no one wanted to miss me being born. But I'm a pretty laid back fellow and decided to take my time.
