Visit with Pappaw

Pappaw came to visit me all the way from Tennessee around Easter time. When we picked him up at the airport, I was completely exhausted!!

But I finally woke up and got to meet and spend some much needed time with my Pappaw

Feeling so much better!

Well, when I was about 6 weeks old, I broke out into hives and was diagnosed with a milk allergy. Mommy tried to cut out dairy from her diet, but there's dairy in almost everything! So my doctor said that I needed a special formula (which means very expensive). My parents second guessed the doctor's "suggestion" and tried every other kind of formula on the market....gentle, sensitive, reduced lactose, and soy. Nothing ever worked and I was constantly crying and had horrible eczema. Any time I was awake I was crying....which mommy and daddy just thought was colic. Finally, they broke down and got me the expensive hypoallergenic formula. Turns out I feel soooo much better!!! I'm finally cooing and smiling all the time...it's like I'm a new baby!

First week at daycare....

Well, this was my first week at daycare and away from mommy. It wasn't that much fun though. The first couple of days I barely slept...maybe 30 minute naps during the day. So when mommy picked me up, I was absolutely exhausted and would sleep when I got home around 5pm and wouldn't wake up until 5:30am! Mommy would still feed me a couple of times during the evening while I was sleeping though. Then on Wednesday night, disaster struck! Daddy just happened to be walking past my room when he heard me making choking sounds. I had thrown up all over my crib. I had done this before on this formula, so mommy and daddy didn't suspect anything and tried to feed me again.....and of course I got sick again. Turns out I had my very first case of the stomach flu :( I wasn't able to keep anything down on Thursday and mommy kind of freaked out because I wasn't peeing. So I also had my first emergency room visit that night as well! Of course right when I got to the hospital I finally had a wet diaper (which means my dehydration was getting better), so the doctor held us there for a while to make sure I kept some pedialyte down. The next day mommy got the stomach flu so Magnolia and I stayed at Nana and Papaw's house. And of course Nana and my Aunt Melanie were loving on me so much the entire weekend that they got the stomach flu too! All in all, the first week of daycare was pretty rough...for me and my family!
